Indian gurus had, throughout history, regularly displayed powers such as precognition, clairvoyance, and materialization; they had appeared in two distant places at the same time, survived months”-long burial, levitated, and lived to be hundreds-of-years old. Far more remarkable to Skylar than any of these extraordinary accomplishments, however, was the gurus’ ability to live in complete peace and happiness, spreading love to and engendering life-altering insights in those around them. Such Saints radiated tranquility so calming that a furious man would become peaceful in their presence; they spread such love that even the most hard-hearted member of their audience would feel like an infant being sung lullabies by his adoring mother; and they created such a powerful spiritual atmosphere that genuine seekers would often be graced with blissful visions that carried them completely out of space and time.”
