It then got transformed into an immaculate lotus flower. Atop the flower, a shape began to come into focus. Shankara! He was seated in full-lotus position, wearing strands of rudraksha beads, carrying a slender staff in his right hand. His forehead bore three stripes of sandalwood paste, and his head was covered by a saffron cloth. His chest was bare, and he wore a dhoti the same color as his head scarf. Shankara\u2019s face was so brightly illuminated from within that it looked almost transparent. His mouth was shapely and small, his nose narrow and well-carved.
