“California Coast”

Excerpt from “Osi and Isi: A Tale of Twin Flames”: “Isi hiked up to a spot from which she could observe a broad expanse of the land- and oceanscape. A spit of rock reminiscent of a huge lizard jutted out into the Pacific. The water alongside it, of a pale turquoise color, was lighter than that farther away. Rounded prominences beyond this lizard looked to be covered with soft moss. Behind her rose mountains whose tops she could not even see. Red, yellow, purple, and orange flowers spread to her left and right. The air was so pure that it felt intoxicating to breathe. The faintest of thuds, sounding from far below, indicated the impact of the surf on the beach and rocks. She wanted to put her thoughts about this place into words, but words could not do it justice. She sensed that she had entered a mythic land where miracles were possible, nay, even probable. No signs of human involvement showed themselves from where she sat. There were only massive, spume-swept boulders, afghans of colorful flowers, undulations of richly blue sea, and towering walls of mountain granite This world was constructed on the scale of giants, and pertained not in the least to the puny realm of humanity. Isi felt her soul being bathed by the pristine elements of this wonderland. Her mind and heart were being scrubbed immaculate by the gentle hands of the breeze and the salty mist rising up from the shore. Simultaneously, she disappeared into nothingness and swelled into universality. Her particularity dissolved, but her generality bloomed to encompass the entire universe. No thoughts came to her. No problems worried her. No expectations fronted her. All that existed was the perfect peace and joy of being on this ground, underneath this baby-blue sky, on the top of this mighty cliff, above this endless ocean.”
