“Transformation”

“The toddling child lit a golden fire of love inside her heart. The flaming red blossoms tickled the chin of her very soul. The mackerel sky floated down over her in a soft bombardment of cotton puffs. Her body no longer possessed the mass and solidity it once had. Instead, it felt like a porous mesh through which the warm breeze blew, into which the jasmine’s perfumes wafted. The body was not really a circumscribed “thing” anymore; it blended in with the energies surrounding it, and stretched out elastically to touch the farther world. No more did it dominate the soul or hide its beauty, for the soul flowed out of it easily, as a sea through open sluices. In fact, “she” seemed to be the Silence that overspread everything with which she came into contact, rather than an entity separate and apart from all others. Over her Silence passed all sorts of energies and stimuli. Sounds and colors bounded and splashed over It; shapes overlay It; jolts of animal spirits flashed above it like jagged arrows of heat lightning; ripples of laughter tickled It; and tender, tidal, caresses of love flowed through It.”
