“Universal Wisdom”

“Once again, all six assumed their places on the periphery of the circle formed by the grass. As they stared at the dollhouse of a temple, it suddenly transformed itself into a ball of bright, golden light. A miniature sun might have been occupying that central space. Then a voice, pure and sweet, sounded. The voice was reading words that appeared on the golden sphere. The words were minute and written in Sanskrit, but somehow everyone could see and understand them even before the voice intoned, “I Am Divine.” There was a brief pause before the voice continued: “You are not this small body, this grasping ego, or this yearning heart. You are Infinite Divine Being.” The voice read new words, these in Aramaic: “The Kingdom of God is within you. Understand yourself to be Pure Consciousness, Infinite and All-knowing.” As these various words were read to the six partners in creation, they passed directly into their souls, instantly affecting them, working on them like spiritual, surgical instruments. The words on the structure changed, and the voice read, “You and I are not ‘we,’ but ‘ONE.’ The Oneness of Reality is uncompromisingly unlimited and all-pervading.” Now it happened that as new words appeared, one of the six friends felt inspired to recite them. Orenda read, “No true spiritual life is possible without a generous heart.” Kira told the others that, “Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.” And Claire recited these words: “A heart full of love is the precious essence of human life.” “Be still and KNOW that I AM God,” Sonca read. “Hope is the one thing stronger than fear,” Stilla pronounced. No more words appeared for a few minutes. Everyone looked over at Gilberto, the only one who had not recited anything. Then, at last, a phrase gleamed on the little temple. Gilberto was able to understand the Greek letters. “Forgive, and you will be forgiven,” he said and then smiled.” (from “Palace of Perfect Wisdom”)
