“Where Is Happiness?”

A suffering human being (a Being who conceives herself to be merely a body and mind) looks at a river and envies it, for the river does not suffer, it just flows. She looks at a bird and envies it, for the bird does not suffer, it just flies and sings. The lesson for the human is that simple existence, in tune with nature and devoid of mind games is true happiness. But the suffering of the human turns her awareness inward, and she discovers the infinite Being that she truly Is. And when this Being is stabilized, the human comes to live not only in tune with nature and devoid of mind games, but with the full Awareness of Infinite Bliss, Peace, and Love, which no other creature in nature can ever attain.

Richard Maddox

Richard Dietrich Maddox's writing focuses on the search for permanent happiness, the goal of finding paradise on earth, the attainment of human Enlightenment. His work, though fiction, attempts to convey the profound spiritual Truth passed on to humanity by Enlightened Masters. Maddox approaches spiritual wisdom from a Western level of experience, presenting characters to whom readers can easily relate, offering situations in which readers might well have found themselves. His work offers, in a style which those living in the West will find understandable, the possibility of blissful existence.
