“Mahacharya”

“Then, Mahacharya, is the Self you refer to the same as Pure Consciousness? For we have heard much about Pure Consciousness.”“The very same,” he replied. “These are all just names for the One. Some call it the Absolute. Some call it God. Some call it Brahman. Some call it the Self. But let us use that word because everyone knows that she exists, yes? You know that there is something inside you that will never cease to exist. That is the Self.” “This world that we see all around us,” he gestured toward the sky and the stream, “is a show projected by our Consciousness. It is like the threads that the spider pulls out of itself to form the web it then traverses.” Kira said questioningly, “The world is as we are?” “In truth, there is nothing ultimately real but the Pure Consciousness that is your essence. For it is the essence of everything in the apparent universe. Once someone has realized that their own Consciousness is All there Is, then the “reality” of the world disappears.” (from “Palace of Perfect Wisdom”)
