“Telekinesis”

“For Orenda did have mastery over objects. With the merest intention of her mind, she could move them to and fro. An invisible cord seemed to connect her awareness with things. A subtle thought would pull the cord and move the object. But a quiet voice had always told her that this power ought not to be abused. She knew that it would be wrong to employ it simply to save herself some minor exertion of effort. What gave her most satisfaction was using the telekinesis to help others. One time, she watched as a boy raced his bike toward an unseen pothole. In a flash, Orenda moved the hole out of his path and saved the rider from a bad fall.” (from “Palace of Perfect Wisdom”)
