“The California Coast”

Excerpt from”Osi and Isi: A Tale of Twin Flames”: “The California coast, as she now saw it for the first time, was titanic. Steep cliffs rose hundreds of feet into the pure air. Boulders the size of pickup trucks lay strewn across a beach like marbles cast from the hands of giants. The vast Pacific Ocean appeared to stretch westward forever. And she loved the way in which different types of landscape came together here. She would be walking through a magical forest of immense redwood trees and then find herself emerging from it onto an estuary decorated with variously sized driftwood pieces of grotesque and sinuous shape. A snow-white egret and a bluish-gray heron posed motionless on the bank of a stream. Dozens of gulls standing on the beach looked, from a distance, like so many scattered pebbles. The air, refreshed by breezes and purified by the constant approach of the surf, proved heady to breathe.”

Richard Maddox

Richard Dietrich Maddox's writing focuses on the search for permanent happiness, the goal of finding paradise on earth, the attainment of human Enlightenment. His work, though fiction, attempts to convey the profound spiritual Truth passed on to humanity by Enlightened Masters. Maddox approaches spiritual wisdom from a Western level of experience, presenting characters to whom readers can easily relate, offering situations in which readers might well have found themselves. His work offers, in a style which those living in the West will find understandable, the possibility of blissful existence.
