“The girls looked at each other and decided to wait until the holy woman acknowledged them. But she never did. They all sat down close to the entrance of the hut. They found the atmosphere inside it drawing them deep within themselves. An indeterminate amount of time passed before the girls were called out of their meditations by the appearance of a silvery body of roughly the same size and shape as that of the cave’s main occupant. But this new body was an ephemeral one. It was luminary, relucent, and translucent. It moved slowly but steadily toward the woman seated at the back of the cave. It sat down across from her in precisely the same position in which she sat. And then, as the shocked friends observed, this new body passed into the other one, instantly animating it. the process appeared to the friends as one of plugging in the lights of a Christmas tree. The pallor of the woman’s face grew pink and flushed. Her rigid arms and legs show new suppleness. Her breathing recommenced. Her lifeless hair gained vital moisture and curl.” (from “Palace of Perfect Wisdom”)
