“Floating: Part 1”

Excerpt from “Osi and Isi: A Tale of Twin Flames”: “The morning was clear and lovely and the sun warmed Innocente’s cheeks. He went farther than he normally did on his walks, and finally found himself at the edge of a shimmering glade, a perfectly circular open space surrounded by what looked, to his boyish imagination, to be tall, straight soldier-trees. The sunlight in the center of the glade was brilliant, so at first Innocente could not see it clearly. After a few moments, however, a passing cloud dimmed the light sufficiently for him to make out a figure in the space. It was Hirta! He was just about to rush over to her with words of delight about the resurrected squirrel, when something stopped him. The tiny, gray-haired woman had her arms raised up toward the heavens. Even though the sunlight had now dimmed in the glade, her form was as radiant as a piece of glass reflecting the sun. Hirta’s brilliance gave the boy pause. As he watched her, Hirta’s body slowly lifted up off the ground. At first, it rose only a few inches, but then it ascended several feet. His friend was floating in the air! Innocente’s jaw dropped and tears of joy began to run down his cheeks. This was magic! Hirta, the kind old lady who always helped him, was like one of those men in the Bible who had soared straight up into the sky.”
